Enhanced Performance Ultra Small High Current Power Inductors

NIC Components is pleased to announce the expansion of the automatic assembly power inductor family with the new NPIM_LP series offering enhanced performance compared to the NPIM_L series.

Overview
NPIM_LP surpasses the NPIM_L power inductors and NPM(H) metal composite chip inductors with the availability of 2 standard sizes. Case sizes ranging from 2.0mm X 1.6mm to 2.5mm X 2.0mm (LxW) with component heights of 1.0mm and 1.2mm. Inductance values range from 0.24uH ~ 10uH in ±20% (M) inductance tolerance.

Combining these two technologies results in a reduced size and increased performance power inductor. Saturation current ratings range from 0.9A to 10.8A with an operating temperature range of -55°C ~ +125°C.

Isat current ratings up to 9.5A with an operating temperature range of -55°C ~ +125°C.

The NPIM_LP Series meets PB-Free reflow conditions up to 260°C and is RoHS Compliant without exemptions, halogen free and REACH SVHC 173 compliant.

Background & Application Focus
Using an automatic assembly process makes ultra-small sizes possible while still allowing higher current ratings than conventional construction power inductors in the same size. Noise reduction is increased by use of its resin shielding material. An upgrade from standard ferrite based shielded power inductors, metal composite construction [NPIM] provides high saturation current characteristics, increased frequency performance, and higher efficiency.

Together with NIC's low ESR capacitors and metal film current sensing resistors the, NPIM_LP series is ideal for use in high current power supplies, display drivers, voltage regulator applications from portable, handheld, space-saving devices to large scale networking solutions

New High NPIM_W Current Power Inductors Operate up to 180C

180°C AECQ200 Metal Composite Power Inductors

NIC Components is pleased to announce the expansion of the metal composite high current shielded power inductor family with the new NPIM_W series with the ability to operate in temperatures up to 180°C.

Overview
Extending from NIC's AECQ200 NPIM_PA and NPIM_A series the NPIM_W series a max operating temperature of 180°C has been to its strong feature list including higher current ratings and lower DCR. Two case sizes are currently available with 7.1 × 6.6 × 2.8mm and 11.0 × 10.0 × 3.8mm sizes. Inductance values range from 0.47uH ~ 68uH in ±20% (M) inductance tolerance.

Isat current ratings up to 29A with an operating temperature range of -55°C ~ +180°C.

The NPIM_W Series meets PB-Free reflow conditions up to 260°C and is RoHS Compliant without exemptions, halogen free and REACH SVHC 173 compliant.

The NPIM_W series meets the requirements of AECQ200 and suggested for use in automotive grade applications or where higher quality components may be required.

Together with NIC's automotive grade hybrid aluminum electrolytic capacitors and thin film resistors the NPIM_W series is ideal for use in high current DC/DC converters, in dash automotive applications, LED drivers and motor control noise suppression applications.
