NRCL Series
Lead Free Thick Film Chip Resistors
View Press Release: Online | PDF
Standard construction thick film chip resistors commonly take the RoHS directive exemption 7C1 to achieve RoHS compliance. Exemption 7C1 allows electrical and electronic components containing lead in a glass or ceramic other than dielectric ceramic in capacitors (piezoelectronic devices) or in a glass or ceramic matrix compound to exceed the 1,000PPM (0.1%) threshold.
NIC is pleased to offer NRCL series of Pb free thick film chip resistors, which does not take the RoHS exemption, as the level of Pb has been reduced below the RoHS threshold of 1,000PPM (0.1%).
The NRCL series is supported in EIA standard case sizes 0201, 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206 and 1210 in power ratings from 1/20W to 1/3W. Operating temperature range of -55°C to +155°C (-55°C to +125°C for 0201 size) with power rating derated above +70°C. Voltage ratings cover 25V ~ 200V. Resistance values from 1 Ohm to 10 Meg-Ohm with temperature coefficient of resistance of ±100ppm/°C to +800ppm/°C. E-24 and E-96 resistance values are supported in ±1% and ±5% resistance value tolerances. NRCL series is supplied without resistance value marking.
Zero ohm (jumper) versions are supported in all case sizes with current ratings from 1.0A ~ 2.5A. Supplied on carrier tape for automated placement and compatible with Pb-free reflow soldering. Free samples are supplied for design and evaluation purposes. Typical component pricing, from $0.004 to $0.03USD each, when purchased in production volumes.
