Multilayer Metal Composite Chip Power Inductors
NIC Components is pleased to announce the expansion of the Power Inductor family with the NFM multilayer metal composite chip power inductors.
NFM incorporates two of NIC's Performance Passive Power Inductor Technologies, metal composite NPIM and multilayer NFP, offering high current ratings in a multilayer chip component. Available in 0805 (2.0 x 1.2mm) and 0806 (2.0 x 1.6mm) case sizes with component heights of 0.5mm to 1.0mm. Inductance values range from 0.24uH ~ 1.5uH in ±20% (M) and ±30% (Y) inductance tolerance.
Stepping away from traditional wire wound coil types NIC's multilayer technology can meet downsizing requirements while maintaining top performance. An upgrade from standard ferrite multilayer power inductors, metal composite [NFM] provides high saturation current characteristics, increased frequency performance and higher efficiency.
Isat current ratings range from 1.8A to 4A with an operating temperature range of -40°C ~ +125°C.
These multilayer power inductors are ideal for use in LED lighting applications, display drivers, voltage regulator applications in portable, handheld, space-saving and high density circuit designs.
