NEXGW, NEXMW Series
Upgraded Temperature Rated EDLCs
NIC Components is pleased to announce the expansion of the electric double layer capacitor (EDLC) family with the upgraded 85°C radial leaded NEXGW and NEXMW series.
Background
An upgrade from the established NEXM and NEXG series from NIC Components, the new NEXMW and NEXGW feature wide operating temperature range covering from -40°C ~ +85°C, with 1000 hour load life test ratings at +85°C compared to the legacy -25°C ~ +70°C operating range.
The upgrade temperature allows extended lifetime performance ideal for use as backup capacitors powering real time clock circuits for long durations. Circuit discharge currents can be up to 500uA, with long term holdup typical greater than 200 hours at 1uA.
Product Overview & Application Focus
The NEXMW is supplied in UL94V-0 rated resin molded package with 5.0mm lead pitch, and can be is supplied on tape for automated insertion. NEXGW is supplied in 5.1mm & 7.62mm lead pitch. For lower profile applications the horizontal mounting option on NEXMW series will result in 7.0mm maximum component height.
The combined series cover capacitance values from 0.047F to 2.2F (47,000µF ~ 2,200,000µF) and voltage ratings of 3.5VDC, 3.6VDC and 5.5VDC.
Both series meets PB-Free soldering conditions and are RoHS Compliant without exemptions, halogen free and REACH SVHC 169 compliant.
Together with NIC's high current power inductors (NPIM_P Series) and thin film current sensing resistors (NCSW Series) the NEXGW and NEXMW double layer capacitors are ideal for use in memory backup applications.
