Chip resistors improve performance and reduce cost in high speed PCB applications

Now available from NIC Components, a new range of ultra small 0201 size thick film chip resistors. The NRC series can be placed closer to ICs thereby reducing trace distance and improving performance in high-speed circuits. The reduction in area of PCB required also reduces the total cost of PCBs as well as the end product.
Ideal for next generation high density, compact handheld products, the chips measure just 0.6mm X 0.3mm, and only in 0.1mm height. Operating between -55°C ~ +125°C, the NRC series is available in E24 and E12 resistance values from 10ohm to 1Meg-ohm in +/-5% (J) and +/-10% (K) tolerances respectively. Power rating is 1/20W (50mW) from -55°C to +70°C (de-rated to zero power at +125°C) with a resistance temperature coefficient of +/-200PPM/°C. Constructed from a high purity alumina substrate (Cermet), the chips are covered in a metal glazed thick film, providing uniform quality and high reliability. A double glass overcoat also improves mechanical operation and ensures long life, whilst a nickel barrier prevents leaching.
The NRC series is supplied on punched paper tape and is compatible with auto placement and re-flow soldering. Zero Ohm 'jumper' chip version is also available.
