Solid Polymer Capacitors Provide Superior Performance Compared To Liquid Electrolyte Devices

New NSPV Series Of Surface Mount Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors -
NIC Components Corp.

The new NSPV series of surface mount aluminum electrolytic capacitors from NIC Components Corp. uses a solid polymer electrolyte. This results in reduced equivalent series resistance (ESR), higher ripple current ratings and extended high temperature operational life when compared to devices using liquid electrolyte.

NSPV series capacitors are housed in cylindrical leadless cases ranging in size from 8mm x 7mm to 10mm x 10.5mm. Capacitance values of between 22uF and 680uF and working voltage ratings of 6.3VDC to 25VDC are available. With impedance values as low as 0.015 ohms and ripple current ratings of up to 5.1A rms (at +105degC/100KHz), NSPV series capacitors are ideal for use in low voltage, high current applications such as power supplies, dc-dc converters and voltage regulators. All devices from the range are able to operate at temperatures of between -55degC and +105degC. NSPV capacitors can be supplied either in bulk or tape and reel packaged for use with automated insertion PCB manufacturing. All parts are available with an optional lead-free finish.
